AN ICONIC EVENT
CHALLENGE: Nike needed a theme and strategy for their iconic women’s running event in San Francisco, California that incorporated the full spectrum of the NIKE running experience. Our task was to pitch and win the NIKE Women’s Marathon project facing up with some of the best agencies in the world to create a united visual language and engaging event experience.

SOLUTION: We combined retro with modern in a theme inspired by San Francisco’s famous flower power era. The event name, “Run as One”, ties into the come-together vibe of the 60’s to inspire unity and support for women and cancer survivors. We created a system of illustrations combining running visuals into Chinese-themed floral patterns celebrating San Francisco’s heritage. We created an event experience that connected individuals and groups allowing for tracking, sharing and experiencing the emotion and energy of coming together to race against breast cancer.
RESULTS: We won the project and produced a unified and iconic experience that made a massive impact with the community around shared values. The race weaved through the hills of SF and took over Union Square with a massive event tied together by our theme, strategy, and creative.
